Today is Monday, July 14th and despite being the day that Kiya becomes 6 months old, it is also a day that I should be hard at work. Well, I was, just not at my job! I played hooky (of course with the blessing of my boss - thanks Lynne) and did some running around (well lots of it) as well as had some fun in the sun and the pool.
Dave and I spent most of the day meeting with the pool guy, the rock guy, and running errands, but we did make some time to take the furry kids in the pool. First we made sure that the water features work, and I frantically took notes as Rob showed us how to work all of the pool equipment. The water is looking much clearer today, and a better color too. Both Dave and I are very happy with it (Audible sigh as remember, "I picked the color").
Water features working...check!
Mini waterfall overflow from the spa
We found these on sale! What a great buy!
Then it was off to let the dogs get their first taste and feel of the new pool! Now as you can see, the majority of the pictures are of Hunter. This is because HE is the water dog (as previously stated) and frankly Flash did pretty much what you see him doing in this picture...and he did this the whole time. This does not lend to an exciting chronology of events. My pictures of Flash would be : Here is Flash sitting on the reef. Oh, here he is now sitting on the reef. And again, Flash...that's right...sitting on the reef.
While Hunter was much more exciting. At the FIRST sign from Dave that it was safe to go in the water he jumped from where he was standing (which happened to be at the deep end) into the water and promptly began thrashing about. He LOVED it!!!! He kept getting out and jumping back in. He even went down the slide, although we do not think he liked it and frankly we have made it off limits for the dogs now.
This picture was a little blurry because I wasn't expecting him to jump in, but he too has been waiting for two years.
Hunter emerges from his jump
and begins to swim about
swim, swim, swim...the happy Hunter dog.
All and all they had a blast...the only problem - they then played in the dirt as the rest of our yard is not done. Oh well, all in good time.
